This weekend!
I can't forget to tell you about this entire weekend too! It was way too long to put in the last post. Friday night my mother in law Donda had bought tickets to the Steelfist Fight Night. A few of our friends were actually fighting so she bought tickets to support them. Also, my sister in law Lanci's birthday was on Saturday so we decided to celebrate Friday before she left the next day. All i can say is we know how to have fun. It was so much freaking fun! The fights started around 7 and ended around probably 11 or 12? I honestly can't even remember. Afterwards we went to a bar that Lanci went to a lot when she was younger. Then we ended up going home. It was such a good night! Defintely a well deserved break for all of us.
With the deer hunt opening up on Saturday morning we've been hunting as much as we can. Bry doesn't get many days off so we had to use our time wisely! Saturday morning we drove out to Springville and planned on going up Shingle Mill. Bry's family has been going there for hunts and family reunions for a really long time. Steve(Bry's dad) had actually gone up the night before and camped there while we were all out at the fights. We had just gotten to the golf course before it goes up the canyon when we passed Steve. He flipped around and we talked for a bit about what he'd seen and if we should even go up. OH and before i forget, i should also add we'd had a hell of a morning searching for Bry's deer tag and still hadn't found it. We were actually hoping that it was in the same envelope as Steve's. Unfortunately, it ended up not being in there. So we decided that because we had no deer tag and there were way to many hunters up there vs. the small amount of deer he'd seen we'd go home! Once we got to our house here in Wallsburg we got on our four wheeler and headed up behind the house. After we got up there quite aways we parked and started hiking. We went from one ridge to the next and back again. We ended up seeing 3 deer and 4 hunters on the ridge opposite us. All in all it was a big disappointment! We hiked back down to the four wheeler and headed home. On Sunday Bry actually had to work so we couldn't go up until after 5. A friend of ours called Bry that day and told us he'd had someone show him some deer on the opposite side of the valley. So i made sure to have everything we needed ready to leave right when he got home. We had just enough time to get to where we needed to go and walk around for maybe 30 minutes. We actually ended up riding off the mountain in the dark. Both Bry and Tyler had hesitated to mention neither of the four had headlights. Yeah, i was a little angry to say the least. Luckily Bry has a flashlight app on his phone that is actually really bright! We turned that on and i had to hold it the whole way down. It worked out pretty well and ended up being quite the wild ride! Too bad we didn't see any deer. Talk about frustrating! I was close to giving up the entire idea all together. Bry convinced me otherwise. I have always wanted to see what it was like to climb to the top of a mountain. To be honest i think i had a little too many crazy pills or maybe ate some lead paint as a child. The entire hike was so freaking tiring! At one point we were actually walking right behind a herd of Elk. When we had parked the car at the bottom of the mountain we heard them bugling like crazy! As we got to the top we were following right behind them. I can't even explain what that moment was like for me. Elk are my favorite animal and their bugle is my favorite sound. Even if it's the 500th time i've heard it i will almost always smile uncontrollably or tear up. So for me to be able to be that close and to see them instead of just hearing them was amazing. It was definitely number 3 on my Top 5 favorite moments. I still can't believe it! Anyway, we had driven up as far as we could then hiked up the rest of the way. We were literally at the top of the mountain right behind our house. If i pointed it out to you i think you'd laugh in my face. I still can't believe that i did it! I feel like flipping my body the bird and telling them I TOLD YOU SO! It was such a beautiful view and the most amazing experience to share with Bry. It's amazing what you can do if you just try. Especially when you have your world's biggest fan cheering you on and holding your hand the entire way. But to our disappointment we saw 3 freaking deer the entire way. All of which were either Does or too fast to tell what they were. So yet again we came off the mountain with nothing! Luckily it was a beautiful hike and we had gotten to see the Elk. Once we got home were hurried to Heber to gas up and come right back to Wallsburg and hit a different spot. All i can say is i am SO freaking disappointed. I feel so bad for Bry too! Hopefully when we go back out this Friday there will be deer left for him. All in all it was a crazy beautiful experience and one for the books! Now i am in so much pain that i just don't want to move. Which is probably why i am blogging hahah !! Anyway i hope you enjoyed this : )
It's been awhile.
I haven't posted in quite awhile. This blogging thing is harder than people think. Even if it is just writing a simple paragraph. I think sometimes i over analyze things and that makes it a little harder for me. Anyway, our lives lately went from rocky to wonderful. It's amazing what happens when you just start trying. Well let me rephrase...start trying in all the ways you haven't before. And more than anything stick with it. No matter how much work it is STICK WITH IT. The payoff is more than worth it. You think all along that you have been doing things right. But when it gets right down to it there is always one thing overlooked. It isn't always someone else's fault. Even if they are at fault it can't just be them to blame. Be willing to admit you are at fault too. Even taking responsibility for your own actions helps. I feel like things are just starting to really make sense for me in my life.
About a month ago i started working too. I am a caregiver for A Caring Hand. I stay overnight with someone who needs a little extra help due to their old age. I absolutely LOVE it. It brings in the extra money we need and relieves some stress on both of us. Even better i get to stay over two nights a week and then spend 1 day a week. It fits great with our schedules! We'll only need a baby sitter for 2 or 3 hrs after each night so that i can catch up on sleep and then the entire day of my day shift. It really is helping me feel like i contribute to the family as well. It also give me the break i need and time away from home. It was such a blessing to have gotten the call and got the job!
I'm not sure if i had mentioned it before but Bry got promoted! He is not the shop supervisor at Jiffy Lube in Heber. About a week ago he also got another raise! He oversees the brakes as well. He is doing so great and we are all so proud of him! He is finally where he needs to be and being appreciated like he deserves. He also has the best boss anyone could ask for. I am so happy for him. It's been a long time coming.
Luna turned 18 months yesterday too! Where has the time gone? I remember my tiny little newborn girl like it was yesterday. Today i thought about that a lot actually. She has gotten so big and is really growing up. She is so smart too. I am so proud to be able to call her mine. I don't think you realize just how lucky you are to be a mom. Mainly because it can be so much work and overwhelming at times, that we don't take time to fully appreciate just how beautiful it is. Being a mom is one of the most important things to me in my life. Which is so funny because i have always disliked kids and never wanted any of my own! But i sure love my little Luna and can't imagine what life would be like without her.
Life has been pretty amazing lately! Can't wait to see what the next few months hold for us! I'll be sure to try and keep you updated!
